The Midweek Update
Well, it’s been a week. I don’t know about you, but keeping on top of current events has been a challenge—which is only compounded by my already full study load. Reaching the halfway point this week, I’m pretty tired. But also convinced that Jesus is better, and gives more grace. And that is good news.
Now, for the update
I’m still slogging through some of the books I’ve mentioned over the past few weeks. Now that school has started up again, I’m doing less “fun” reading. Trying to squeeze in some of these reads here and there.
Our family has been watching the series All Creatures—the adaptation of the James Harriot books–over the past couple years. We’ve really enjoyed it. this season is out, and it remains a great show. One reason I think I like it is because it emphasizes the importance of thick community bonds, something we’ve largely lost in our atomized society.
On a different note, having teenagers is really fun. I’ve had a couple conversations in the past week about social-cultural issues with my kids, and it’s such a cool gift to be able to field their hard questions, and to get their insights as they try to figure out the world around them. 10/10 would recommend.
That’s it for now. Till next time
